Measuring up

Length (mm) Width (mm)

Measure the area in millimetres and enter the exact size — we cut to the millimetre. Measure twice, especially around worktops and sockets.

Need cut-outs for sockets or pipes, or a shape other than a rectangle? Get a bespoke quote.

Which thickness?

0.9mm is our recommended thickness for splashbacks and wall panels.

Thicker sheets are more rigid. If you're unsure which suits your project, ask our team.

Fitting

Pieces arrive ready to fit and can be fixed to most flat surfaces with epoxy resin or liquid nail.

Gloss or matte?

Every piece is sealed in a protective lacquer. Gloss gives a reflective, lively surface; Matte a soft, low-sheen look.

Description

We’re particularly proud of this creation, a bold showstopper of a look that will become the focal point of any room. Named after the rolling, patchwork countryside of sun-soaked Somerset, this unique aged brass features a unique pattern of swirls and shards. You’ll see varying shades of gold, and we can even imbue it with subtle hints of pink, blue and green.

We hand-age quality brass sheets in our Newcastle workshop, liaising with you to ensure we achieve the look you have in mind. Once that look is achieved, we seal in matte or gloss.

Somerset is one of our most popular finishes for kitchen splashbacks, but it also works wonderfully on tabletops, feature walls and anywhere else deserving of a spectacular aesthetic.

Lead times for our pieces is 5-8 weeks from order. If you need sooner please let us know and we will do our best to help
Care guide

Every piece is sealed with a protective lacquer or crystalline wax to keep the finish as it is. If that layer is worn away by harsh cleaning or heat, the metal will carry on ageing naturally.

  • Clean gently with warm, soapy water
  • Wipe up spills straight away — acidic liquids like vinegar or fruit juice will mark the finish
  • Use heat mats and avoid scratching
  • Re-lacquer if needed

Delivery & returns

Free delivery to mainland UK on orders up to 2500 × 1500mm. Samples are £5.99 and arrive in 2–3 working days. International delivery is priced on request.

Every order is made to measure, so it can’t be returned unless it arrives damaged. Please check your order on delivery and report any damage within 7 days, keeping the original packaging.

What’s the turnaround time?

Depending on the size of the project we aim to turnaround within 5-8 weeks. Need something quicker? Get in touch and we’ll see if we can help?

What thickness does a splashback need to be?

0.9mm is recommended thickness for splashbacks.

Will the finish be the same as shown?

We use the finish as a starting point but please note that all finishes are bespoke and may not be exactly the same is images shown on the site.

Are the pieces easy to take care of?

Along with your order you will be send complete aftercare instructions.

What are the largest sizes that can be made?

Our largest single sheets are 3000 × 1200mm in 0.9mm brass and copper, and 2500 × 1300mm in 1.2mm. Larger areas can be made in multiple sheets — we age the pieces together to keep the joins as discreet as possible. Splashbacks often look better split into three pieces anyway. Get in touch and we'll advise.

How can I apply metal sheets to a wall?

For fixing onto walls, plaster, bricks, or any other solid flat surface, we recommend most epoxy resins or liquid nail will work best.

What is the cost of shipping for large pieces?

For pieces longer than 1300mm we advise shipping on a pallet for best protection. There is a £50 shipping cost added on for this service to those orders.
